About Us
Who We Are
Founded in loving memory of Paul Robert Stasch, Stasch Rocky Woods Nature Education Center is a living tribute to a man whose heart beat in rhythm with the natural world. Paul—an adventurer, nature enthusiast, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and community member—passed unexpectedly in June 2024, just one week shy of his 66th birthday. Though he is no longer with us, his vision lives on in every tree, trail, and wildflower that graces this land.
Set on 48 serene acres of forestland once owned by Paul and his wife, Yan Dai, the center was born from their shared dream: to create a place where future generations can learn, explore, and grow in harmony with nature.

Our Mission
At Stasch Rocky Woods, we believe that connection to nature is essential to personal growth, community well-being, and planetary stewardship. Our mission is to:
- Empower learners of all ages to discover and understand the natural world through immersive, hands-on experiences.
- Promote environmental awareness and sustainability through creative programs, guided forest walks, and outdoor education workshops.
- Engage local schools, organizations, and families in a collaborative effort to support ecological education and conservation.
- Inspire a deep sense of wonder and responsibility, cultivating lifelong stewards of the earth.
What We Offer
- Educational Programs: Seasonal camps, school partnerships, and workshops tailored to different age groups and interests.
- Volunteer Opportunities: Help maintain trails, lead programs, or assist with community events.
- Community Outreach: Collaborations with local groups to bring nature-based education to underserved populations.
- Nature Trails & Reflection Areas: Open to the public for walking, meditation, and quiet connection with nature.
A Living Legacy
Paul Stasch left the world a more beautiful place than he found it. Through this center, we continue his life's work—nurturing a deep connection between people and the natural environment that sustains us all.
We invite you to join us in honoring his memory by exploring, learning, and growing alongside the trees, wildlife, and ecosystems that call these 48 acres home.
